Know your heat pump numbers before anyone knocks.

Grant, install cost, running costs and payback year — calculated for your home with current Ofgem prices and the £7,500–£9,000 Boiler Upgrade Scheme applied. No sales calls unless you ask.

Calibrated to the Ofgem July 2026 cap · electricity 26.11p/kWh · gas 7.33p/kWh

Independent numbers first. Installers only if you want them.

WarmSwap isn't an installer and isn't the government. We do one thing: show you the honest arithmetic of switching.

See your real numbers

Current Ofgem prices, the correct grant for your fuel type, and typical MCS install quotes — combined into a payback year for your exact home.

Compare against staying put

Sometimes the answer is "not yet". We show the cases where a heat pump doesn't pay back quickly, too — that's the point of being independent.

Choose quotes on your terms

If the numbers work, we'll match you with up to 2 vetted MCS-certified installers near you. They handle the grant paperwork; you just compare quotes.

Grants and costs in your area

Grant schemes, energy prices and typical installs differ across the UK — especially for oil and LPG homes off the gas grid. Pick an area to see the numbers.

More areas added regularly — each with local energy prices, grant eligibility and a payback calculator.

Why trust a calculator over a salesperson?

Because our numbers don't change depending on who's asking.

  • Every figure is sourced from Ofgem price caps, gov.uk grant schemes and published MCS install data — with dates shown.
  • We're not owned by an installer, an energy company or the government.
  • We show you the cases where a heat pump doesn't make sense yet.
  • Your details go to installers only when you tick the box — never before.

Straight answers

How does the £7,500 / £9,000 grant work?
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant (England & Wales) is claimed by your MCS-certified installer, not by you — it's deducted straight off your invoice. Homes currently heated by oil or LPG off the gas grid qualify for the higher £9,000 amount, for vouchers applied for between 21 July 2026 and 31 March 2027. Scotland runs its own scheme through Home Energy Scotland.
Is a heat pump actually cheaper to run?
It depends on your current fuel and your electricity tariff. Against oil, LPG or electric heating, savings are usually clear. Against mains gas on the standard cap, running costs can be similar — a dedicated heat-pump tariff (~14.5p/kWh) is what unlocks the saving. Each area page shows both cases.
Does WarmSwap charge me anything?
No. WarmSwap is free for homeowners. If you choose to request quotes, installers pay us a fee for the introduction — that's how we keep the calculator free. It never affects your price.
Who sees my details if I request quotes?
Only the vetted MCS-certified installers matched to your postcode — up to 2 of them — and only after you tick the consent box. We never sell your details to anyone else, and you can ask us to delete them at any time. See our privacy policy.
